Free and Reduced Price School Meal Program
Times are tough and prices are going up by the minute. You and your family may not qualify for reduced school lunch (or breakfast), but did you know that just applying for this service can help your school?
The more applications the school has on file, the more government aid the school with receive. Not just in the cafeteria, but throughout the whole school. For every application submitted with student needs, the school receives federal and state money - those are your tax dollars coming back to your community. It is one of the only ways to directly funnel some of the tax money back into your community.
The limits are quite high. A family of eight can have an income of $93,536.00 and receive aid. All applications are confidential, and no student is identified as receiving a free or reduced meal because all students put in their own pin number and the transaction looks as if a student has a prepaid account.
You need to send in your application by September 30, 2023 for the benefit to be effective in the 2023-2024 school year. So, help yourself, your child's school, and your community by filling out the application whether you think you qualify or not.
